Holly Hunter was an American actress, who gained fame due to her roles in films Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. Her work has been recognized with numerous awards, like an Oscar for the movie Piano. Her career began as an actor on Broadway as well as Off Broadway. In her early years, Helen Keller was her favorite character in a 5th class production. Mumps made her lose her hearing in one of her ears, but this was not enough to stop the actress from following her dreams. While in college, she took classes in theatre and later moved from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to New York City in pursuit of her dream. She was introduced to Beth Henley in an elevator and the pair collaborated on Broadway Crimes of the Heart, Hunter's first film. Following her move from Los Angeles she tried to get film roles and bagged a supporting role for the role of a supporting character in Swing Shift. Her career spans more than 30 years, and she's been featured in a variety of TV films or series, as well as films. Holly Hunter is a Hollywood Walk of Fame famous person and has been awarded the Women in Film Lucy Award.
